Self Employed Work and Residence Permit

Case Studies

  1. Diego Taboada from Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Diego Taboada now runs a thriving brasserie in central Marbella. His customers, both locals and tourists alike, enjoy a range of typical Spanish and Argentinian dishes. Diego has successfully tapped in to the local community by providing a quality menu at reasonable prices using fresh local produce from his traditional kitchen, whilst at the same time he has captured the both the local South American community and the imagination of the passing tourists by whetting their appetites by cleverly installing a large “Asador” (open charcoal grill) at the entrance to the restaurant which has a wide range of typically prepared Argentinian meats sizzling away on full view from the street.

  2. Nabil and Rola from Beirut (Lebanon)

Nabil and Rola from Beirut applied to Lawbird in October 2002. We applied for work permits and residency for Nabil, Rola and Suheil, Rola´s brother, to set up a garage and rent-a-car business (Magicar SL) to be based in Marbella.. In early 2003 the application was approved together with all the appropriate paperwork and licenses to commence the business.

Hi Roberto. We have received confirmation that the euros have been received in the UK this afternoon. May we take this opportunity of thanking both you and Antonio for your very best attention to our problem. You have handled the situation with first class professionalism and we are very grateful. Everything moved so smoothly and with much less hassle than we had anticipated at the start of the year. Thanks again and may we take the opportunity to wish you both every success in the future. .

Thanks to Lawbird we recovered our money from the sale of our apartment in Spain. We sold our apartment in May 2008. We were told by the lawyer representing us during the sale that it would normally take 2-3 months to receive our money. This is rubbish and beware of any Spanish lawyers that sell you this line or jargon.

In January 2009 with still no money from the sale of our property and countless emails and phone calls later we decided to take further action. Thankfully Lawbird were nothing short of excellent in conducting a criminal procedure against our previous lawyer recovering our money in full in less than 4 months.

My advice is to stay clear of A. A. and let Lawbird take the stress and strain out of any Spanish law formality. Thanks Lawbird and keep up the outstanding work for your clients. .

In 2009 Raymundo Nesbitt handled a property conveyance for me. He was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and available at all times and in all aspects of the conveyance. At one point a question mark over an outstanding action by the community of owners against the property developer arose. Raymundo's advice in respect of the issue blended both legal and practical advice and was valuable in making a risk assessment on the purchase..
